Lofi Hip Hop
Branding, Layout Design - 2020
A love letter and an examination, Without the Internet: Lofi Hip Hop explores the phenomenon of lofi hip hop— from the origins of the genre to its future.
Anime artwork accompanies "Lofi Hip Hop" on the internet. Seemingly contradictory in nature, with anime art so refined and lofi beats so imperfect— this deck fuses components of both, nestling in a nostalgic and contemporary feel. The light pink and deep purple comes from Lofi's use of bright, heavy colors, an aesthetic that is often forgone in mainstream, true-to-form artworks. Pushing an unconventional look, the deck breaks traditional grid layouts while incorporating overlapping text and images with experimental gradients, opacity, and textures.
Takeaway:
Break conventions. Also, Google Slides is really robust.
